Moldova History :

The republic of Moldova is a small country in the South-East of Europe, which borders on the East with Ukraine, and on the West with Romania. Beginning in the XIVth century it is a component part of the Moldovan voevod, situated between the East Carpathians and Dniester and bordering in the North with Hotin, and with the Black Sea in the South.

According to the Peace Pact of Bucharest, concluded in 1812, a part of this territory - between the rivers Prut and Dniester - passed to Tsarist Russia, which called it Bessarabia.

In January 1918 was proclaimed the independence of the Democratic Republic of Moldova.
